• Dr. Meenatchi. R has been awarded the prestigious ‘Dr. D.S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship’ by University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India, under the mentorship of Prof. A. Jesu Arockia Raj (Research), Department of Biotechnology, College of Science and Humanities, SRMIST, Kattankulathur.
• She has completed her master's in industrial microbiology from the University of Madras.
• She has completed her Ph.D. in Microbiology from Pondicherry University in “Culture-Dependent and Metagenomic Analysis of Coral Microbiome with Implications of Zooxanthellae Clade and its Interactions with Bacteria to evolve Thermal Resistance in Corals of Palk Bay: Insights into Coral Bleaching and Sponge Attack”.
• Worked as JRF in a Research Project sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), India. Topic: “Mining the genome and metagenome of the marine microbiome for biosynthetic gene clusters and small bioactive molecules”
• She has also completed her Ph.D. Student internship at National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST), Taiwan
• Dr. Meenatchi has published several articles in highly reputed journals, including Scientific Reports, Microbiological Research, Marine Pollution Bulletin and PloS ONE.
• Her research work focuses on unraveling the interkingdom signaling pathways and interaction mechanisms involved in coral (bacteria-Symbiodiniaceae) endosymbiosis.
